The piece is inspired by the illustrations of biologist and artist Ernst Haeckel (1834\u20131919). His seminal <em>Kunstformen der Natur<\/em> (1899\u20131904) features beautiful, elegant renderings of newly discovered sea organisms. A species of <em>radiolaria<\/em> appears on the CD cover (below).
