{"id":3684,"date":"2019-01-13T20:08:14","date_gmt":"2019-01-13T20:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alzand.com\/?p=3684"},"modified":"2019-01-13T23:29:01","modified_gmt":"2019-01-13T23:29:01","slug":"six-bagatelles-premiered-at-musiqas-traces-of-blue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alzand.com\/?p=3684","title":{"rendered":"<i>Six Bagatelles<\/i> premiered at Musiqa&#8217;s <i>Traces of Blue<\/i>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new piano trio, <a href=\"http:\/\/alzand.com\/?page_id=3699\"><i>Six Bagatelles<\/i><\/a>, received its premiere on <a href=\"http:\/\/musiqahouston.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Musiqa&#8217;s<\/a> January 12th concert &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/musiqahouston.org\/event\/traces-of-blue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Traces of Blue<\/a>,&#8221; dedicated to music and visual art. <i>Six Bagatelles<\/i> is dedicated to the memory of Ed Shoemake, former board chair for Musiqa, and is inspired by the work of American artist Robert Motherwell (1915-1991). Performers Natalie Lin (violin), Wesley Ducote (piano) and Barrett Sills (cello) presented the premiere alongside works of Hartke, Loiacano, Gosfield, and a live, on-stage painting by artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geraldinawise.com\/home-page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Geraldina Interiano Wise<\/a>. Each short bagatelle is <a href=\"http:\/\/musiqahouston.org\/questions-artists-karim-al-zand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inspired<\/a> by a single iconic print by Motherwell (below), the images projected during the performance.
