{"id":3904,"date":"2020-04-11T23:33:35","date_gmt":"2020-04-11T23:33:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alzand.com\/?p=3904"},"modified":"2020-04-11T23:48:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-11T23:48:45","slug":"the-chestnut-street-singers-on-wrti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alzand.com\/?p=3904","title":{"rendered":"The Chestnut Street Singers on WRTI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chestnutstreetsingers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Chestnut Street Singers<\/a>, Philadelphia&#8217;s cooperative chorus, performed my a cappella arrangement of <i>My Romance<\/i> by Rogers &amp; Hart in a March 5th, 2020 live appearance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrti.org\/post\/watch-and-listen-chestnut-street-singers-live-wrti-901-performance-studio\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WRTI 90.1 Radio<\/a>, in preparation for their season program &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chestnutstreetsingers.org\/season\/19-20\/always-singing-pcch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Always Singing<\/a>.&#8221;<div id=\"attachment_3903\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/alzand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Chestnut-e1586647041202.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3903\" class=\"wp-image-3903 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/alzand.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Chestnut-e1586647041202-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3903\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Chestnut Street Singers<\/p><\/div> Nathan Lofton, a member of the ensemble, found this old arrangement of mine (from 1998) in a box of music he inherited from the late choral conductor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lorna_Cooke_deVaron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lorna Cooke deVaron<\/a>, former director of the NEC Camerata, for whom I wrote the arrangement.
